So, to sum that up, were this Forgotten Realms, I'd likely, (completely ignoring the botched up Spell Plague and subsequent Gods must be Crazy BS), attach my character to Mystra, Tymora, Kelemvor, Tyr, Torm, Selune, or another deity which I do like. But they have the unfortunate requirement to attach themselves to a deity, and to be honest, I don't much like Pathfinder Deities. They've been unfortunately bereft of what made them special, and that was their abilities beyond simple spellcasting.Ĭlerics are on the other hand offer Domain abilities, additional spells attached to their domain, BAB, and some special abilities, making them a very effective class, whether you choose to utilize them as a Healer or not. That doesn't mean they aren't still versatile compared to a Sorceror. I don't like Wizards now, as they lack most of what made them an interesting class to play, and gave them real potential.

You prefer wizards to sorcerers but you don't like wizards but clerics are more to your liking but you don't like clerics. For example, were I to choose an Aasimar as a race, I might choose one of those, or possibly do something a bit different and pick up Serpentine, depending on the Heritage I chose for that character. Originally posted by Near Gravity:I might be a bit odd in that I like the Elemental Bloodlines, and Arcane Bloodline but ultimately it depends on my character. Clerics are fine, if you don't mind attaching your character to a deity, which I sort of do.

So, unfortunately, I don't really play casters at all, because the only one that is desirable to me, suffers the most. Where all the Wizard gets is Spells as they suffer the lowest possible progression everywhere else. Likewise, a Cleric with Knowedge or Magic Domains would be a good choice perhaps especially considering they gain more or less the same power as Wizards, with a slightly different focus, and have the benefit of better BAB, better Saves, better skill selection, the ability to wear armor, better weapon selection, etc. Wizards offer versatility, so while I might specialize, (probably not), the ability to change spells per day is ultimately more my style. Elemental Bloodline, focusing on Damage dealing with a specific element for example but for me, that's sort of narrow as a chosen path, given it will be mostly useless if you run into anything that has immunity, which is very likely.

Ultimately, their spell selection isn't quite what I would consider adequate for anything but a specifically targeted caster build of one sort or another. An Elf, I might choose Draconic, (possibly Bronze or Copper), or an Elemental Bloodline or a Human, I'd probably pick Arcane.īut to be honest, I don't play Sorcerors I just find the idea interesting. On the other side, if I were to go with a Tiefling, I'd probably choose Rakshasha heritage, even though I lose the Charisma penalty removal, and take the Celestial Bloodline, just because I find the concept interesting. I might be a bit odd in that I like the Elemental Bloodlines, and Arcane Bloodline but ultimately it depends on my character. So what about the rest of y'all? What is your favorite Bloodline in this game? Why? What makes you prefer it over to the others? Personally however I think I adore the Undead and Infernal bloodlines the most, with a preference for the former, not only for it giving a Magus the Animate Undead spell but due to providing a way to RP a way to slight immortality AND the truly awesome looking Grasp of the Undead Spell. The Demon, Abyssal, Infernal ,Celestial, UNDEAD, Arcane, Fey, and Serpent Bloodlines all give your characters unique spells, boosts, resistances, and for most but Serpent, Undead, Fey, and Serpent even give you rather impressive wings to increase your movement speed. Though I do personally find quite a few of the Bloodlines to be rather repetitive, the Dragon and Elemental Bloodlines, I have noticed that quite a few of them stand out as rather unique. So I have realized that there are some REALLY cool Bloodlines that you can get as a Eldritch Scion, and one presumes the Sorcerer themselves, that can completely change how you play or how you decide to RP your character.
